Opening Ceremony – Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box 2008

Finally, the Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box 2008 has officially launched! :D

Today, I specially took half day off to attend this opening ceremony at Orchard Road, in front of Takashimaya Shopping Centre. There’s quite a big crowd there – many BB Boys, BB Officers, Guests, Audiences, and passerbys. LOL.

Managed to see Oi Lam, Joseph, Sern Khoon and the rest. And it’s my first time seeing Mr Alex Poh wearing BB Officer uniform, quite interesting xD Too bad that Hoong Sheng, Clifford, Yi Ting and Sandra stayed in the Headquarters, couldn’t say hi to them. Aww…

By the way, it’s like the first time I ever see our Singapore’s very own PRESIDENT, Mr S R NATHAN!

He looked almost exactly the same as in the TV and in the pictures hanged in all the Community Clubs/Town Councils/Halls in Schools. He’s very busy though, he left in a hurry right after the opening ceremony; like as though “poof” and disappeared already. LOL.

Got took 2 pictures with Roger, thanks to Fiona for suggesting it. I’m charging my phone right now and couldn’t get to upload the pictures sia (usb cable need to plug in to the same place as the charger). Thus, I shall post the pictures tomorrow maybe. xD

That’s all for now, tomorrow I will be going to Sitex 2008 @ Singapore Expo, Hall 5 & 6,  Atrium 5 & Foyer 2 :D

For those who are interested in what is Sitex 2008, here’s some information I got from:

Tomorrow! Or perhaps, a few hours later… I’m going to get myself struck in a fish tank everyday! Oh man…

I’m so going to miss my days working in Boys’ Brigade Headquarters! T.T

It’s so great to work together with wonderful colleagues, and on top of that, we’re helping the less fortunate ones! Everything we did, everything we tried to to achieve, everything we troubled ourselves with, they are something we did to help the less fortunate ones! Isn’t that just so niceeeeeee? ;D

Aww, I’m going to start my FYP in a few hours’ time and my mind is still thinking about SGB stuffs. haha. Anyway, yeah, please support the Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box 2008! This friday, on the 28th November 2008, they will be officially launched! The main box is at Orchard Road’s Takashimaya & Ngee Ann City there, at the square there. Please go support! :D

Mixed Feelings (Last day of IAP)

Today is the last day of IAP. I’m filled with mixed feelings! Seriously, happy and sad.

Happy that I’ve get good comments for my IAP. Happy that I made alot of good friends. Happy that everyone in The Boys’ Brigade Headquarters are nice to me. Happy that they throw a farewell lunch at Ichiban Sushi Boshi for me. Happy that Hoong Sheng bought me Haagen-dazs Ice cream. Happy that Mr Tan gave me a book as souvenir. Happy that everyone drop by the office and say farewell to me. Happy that everyone is soooooooooooooooooooo nice. Happy that I’m attached to The Boys’ Brigade in Singapore. Happy that I learned sooooo muchhhh things here. Happy about so many things.

Sad about the fact that I’m going to leave The Boys’ Brigade in Singapore. Sad that I’m going to say farewell to them. Sad that I’m going to leave this wonderful working environment and go stuck in a “fish tank” aka fyp (Final Year Project) lab everyday, 9am to 6pm, starting from next week. Sad that i got to pass so many burdens/stressness over to my bosses and colleagues. Sad that I can only come back in the weekends to help out only after the 7th Dec 2008. Sad that I cannot stay here throughout the whole Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box 2008 project.

I don’t care larh, I sure will come back to help out on the Opening Ceremony on the 28th November 2008. I die die must talk to my officer about this. Next monday first day of FYP, I going to ask him for permission to excuse on that day liao. wahaha.

My fingers so suan. I typed a report with over 3000 words yesterday lor! Spent almost 3 hours typing and thinking there. HAHA. Anyway, today is so memorable. I’ll see if I can post some pictures after I got them from my colleagues. =D

Next monday start of FYP! So busy. Morning 9 am got FYP project briefing. Around 10 am should have FYP officer briefing. Around 12 noon got a meeting with Ms Lim, regarding the dialogue session with Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Mr Masagos Zulkifl, a Singapore minister. Around 2pm got to find my PEM to collect a certificate. Around 4pm got to go find Madam Kang to debrief for IAP. By the time I back to FYP lab, don’t know what time liao. So busy.

And I’ll be volunteering to attend NAPFA physical test training. Anyone wanna join along? =)

Cheers! & I’ll try to update more often, pardon my laziness :p

The Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box 2008

I’m currently having my attachment in The Boys’ Brigade in Singapore. In fact, I’m working as a project assistant in the Sharity Gift Box 2008 department. Have you guys heard about the Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box 2008 (BBSGB2008) event going on currently?

If you don’t read the newspaper! It appeared on The Straits Times newspaper on 24 October 2008′s newspaper, and took a large space on The Straits Times again yesterday, on Wednesday, 12 November 2008, with pictures somemore!

The hotline is shown on the news article too, and many kind souls have called in and enquiry on details regarding Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box 2008 stuffs. I answer to most of the calls though :p Don’t know why, but I felt that it is quite interesting to provide information to others, especially when I’m sure of the information I know, and after giving it to the person whom called, and hearing that the person is pleased with my answer/respond, I felt sastified as well :D

If YOU would like to know the HOTLINE, it is 1800-SHARITY (1800-7427489), feel free to call in if you would like to find out more information regarding this unique charity event which is running its 21st year this year!

Last but not least, I greatly enjoyed the media conference at AWWA Access Building last tuesday, on the 11 November 2008~ It was a whole new experience, first time in my life to attend a media conference. I’m the in-charge of the screen and sound.

If you’re there and was wondering where am I on that day, I’m the one handling the laptop, slides and playing the Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box 2008 video for you guys! :p

There’s so many photo, but I’m lazy to blog all of them out larh actually. Here’s a staff photo which consist of handsome guys and beautiful girls:

Till I blog again! Cheerios!

Does people always get tired of blogging after they’ve been really enthusiastic about it for some time?

As stated in topic: Does people always get tired of blogging after they’ve been really enthusiastic about it for some time?

I personally find that it is true. However, as time past, that kind of enthusiasm will come back to you eventually.

Why? There might be several reasons, I don’t know. Some examples are probably because:

- You does not have any topics which you are interested to blog about? (Blog too much until you don’t know what more to blog about :p)

- You does not have the mood to post entries? (Sometimes when you’re upset or feeling “emotional”, you don’t have the mood to post entries on your blog)

- You wanted to blog, but those topics you have in mind are too personal to type out to all your friends? (You might not want people who are not close to you to know too much about yourself)

- You are so angry about regarding the topic which you want to post or “scold” (You are only going to type out frustration entries instead of real blog entries ;) )

- You have a lot in mind but lazy to type them all out properly as a post (Sometimes, your thoughts are just so random that you don’t know how to put them & ended up like making your ownself “high” and not getting anything expressed :D )

There are many more reasons, those stated above are just some which I could think of at the moment. Feel free to add in more into the list! Simply post a comments with what you think, I’ll definitely approve it ;)
