Guide to 50 Popularity in Restaurant City with screenshot

Anyone whom has a Facebook account AND is an active user, would surely know what is Restaurant City as it have gradually but surely became a trend! ;)

I’m going to share my restaurant’s arrangement with you guys - it may not be the best arrangement out there, but surely, it have allow me to maintain my restaurant’s popularity at 49.8~50.0.

A picture speaks a thousand words, here you go:

To better illustrate on the details of the path on the outside (where the customers have to walk in order to reach the tables) - it is actually a zip zag path.

Its purpose is to let the customers walk a longer distance in order to reach the tables, so I could buy more time for my waiters to clean the table. Also, to allow more time for existing customers to finish their meal! ;)

As you can see from the screenshot, my staffs arrangement consists of 4 Cooks, 3 waiters, and 1 cleaner.

Regarding the toilets - I believe that 4 or 5 is more than enough - as each toilet can be used 4 times before there is a need for cleaner to clean it up.

Regarding the other row of chairs being put at one side, they are actually waiting chairs which I have set up for my customers to sit while waiting for tables to be cleared for them to have their meal! :D

    your restaurant’s set up is ALL WRONG. i wonder how you got your popularity to 50 since level 15 or so…
    on the good side, however, you’re probably already high level, so you don’t need need the money in the game anymore.

    i am not insulting you, or anything, BUT i have a better suggestion. study this website, and you’ll sure see how it’s done right, the better way:

    just a tip, you don’t need a zigzag. it’ll slow your progress down.

    Why do you think my restaurant set up is wrong? :)

    Do you know how I manage my restaurant? Have you read on my tips and guides entry at http://kongwenbin.way2blog.net/?p=414 ?

    If you do, you will know what is the use of the “zigzag”. Believe it or not, it helps! ;)

    I don’t use “click into decoration mode and come out to get toilet clean” or any similar method which disrupt my customers flow - thus the “zigzag” is purely an aid to my way of managing my restaurant.

    Well, who knows, it have been quite some time since I actually went in again to try to earn loads of money, so maybe Playfish has changed the programming & logic already? Chances are low though..

    P.S. - I read the guides on the advertisement link, I guess that’s your website perhaps - I’m not saying they are wrong, but I’m sure we have different ways of managing our restaurant & the fact is that, for mine, it DID maintain my restaurant at 49.9~50.0 popularity - so if you want to say yours is correct and mine is wrong, so be it ;)

    Hi Denise,

    What changes did you make to your restaurant that makes the popularity dropped so much? Staffs no energy? Left your restaurant open overnight? Forgot to assign cook or waiter? Or one of your waiter or cook were stuck on an isolated “island” at your tables arrangement?

    Do provide me with more information so that I could help you think about possible reasons.

    Hi AnisRaihana,

    When we go offline, our restaurant will continue to operate automatically and our staffs will continue to work as well.

    However, their energy level will go down as well (since they are still working, of course it cost them their energy level)

    Advantage is that you still get to earn money even though you’re offline. Disadvantage is that when your staffs run out of energy, they stop working while your restaurant is still “open”, thus customers comes in and no one serve them; as a result, there will be a drop in your restaurant’s popularity rating.

    What I do is “closing” my restaurant and put all my staffs to rest when I want to go offline, so as to maintain my restaurant’s popularity.

    Hope I cleared your doubts.

    hi! i like your guide. :) i also like the way that you arranged your restaurant. it’s very simple, convenient yet very practical. there’s no wonder your restaurant reached 50 popularity points.

    i’ve actually kept those principles with the way that i arrange mine. my restaurant is only level 13 yet it already gained its maximum popularity points at over 37.7 :D i don’t know how much of a big deal that is but for me, it is. :p

    i also have a suggestion to other restaurant city players. if you want your restaurant to gain its maximum popularity points potential, don’t save and close the game. just leave it open (minimize the window while you do other stuff like home works, reports, etc.) and as what wen bin have mentioned, always keep your employees’ energy high. don’t let it go under 80% or the performance of your employees will decrease.

    so that’s it! i hope i helped and feel free to add me up. i’m running out of ingredients so i can’t have my other meals upgraded. >..<

    Hey, the only reason i posted was to ask. How come, when i was level 11 or so, my pop. would reach 40. But now, i am level 13, and my pop. averages 33, maxing out at 35 to 36. I didn not change my layout, but i have added 2 more tables. I was wondering, will the arcade game help my popularity and do i really need waiting chairs?

    Hi R,

    I am not sure why did the popularity of your restaurant drop when you did not change your layout, it is most probably due to the 2 new tables which caused your waiters to not be able to serve them in time? Try removing them first, see if it is the caused of the problem then try to solve it (just in case it is a bug)

    Acade game and waiting chairs help make your customers stay in the restaurant instead of straight away walk out when your restaurant’s full.

    Waiting chairs is useful in my opinion because it makes customer stop there. When one existing customer left, he/she would go and take a seat there, so the walking time is lesser and also you don’t “waste” customer.

    hey there! i’m level 11 and finally at the 48-50 popularity range. I have put all of my waiting chairs at the far back of the restaurant so that it takes my customers a while to get there, giving my eating customers more time to finish. I have 4 chefs and 2 waiters. My layout is not very pretty since I spent a lot of time investing money to buy an arcade, which really helps.

    Yes, waiting chairs are good assets, when paired up with maze at the front, it’s even more great! Arcades are good at keeping customers in your restaurant too.

    It’s very good already, considering the fact that you got an average rating of 48~50 with a layout that you regard as “not very pretty” :D Good job!

    I’m not sure if the maze part actually does anything. If you think about it logically all you’re doing is postponing EVERY customer that comes in, so you just delay everything.

    I do think putting seats for people to wait in the far end of your restaurant is a good idea, but they have to be close to the tables, they’re just there to reduce customer amount fluctuations.

    Appart from that, nice job!
    (Did you try going without the maze lately? Just out of curiosity)

    1) If you’re active & play everyday, I think within a week should be enough? It should be possible.. haha. For me, I play very seldom as I was having project at school that time, so the connection was quite unstable, took me weeks. :)

    I agree with michael, making the way longer, doesn’t help, because it’s is a continuos flow, while old customer are walking new ones are entering. What really helps is to make the space for your waiters the smallest it can be, so they don’t have to walk so much to deliver the order.
