I came across this blog owned by a 18-year-old girl.
She boasted about how much she knew about branded goods and how some Singaporeans are only able to purchase these items from flea markets.

Not only that, she boasts about how easy ‘O’ levels are and mocks ‘O’ levels retakers.

What’s wrong with this generation of people nowadays uh? I just can’t believe it… we really have all kinds of people in our society uh? Seriously, I don’t understand what is in their head (brain).

In army, there is this saying that no matter what is your rank, you must earn respect through your ways and actions, not through your rank.
Certainly this person don’t deserve any form of respect from the way she boasts about things.
Thanx for posting this Wen Bin.

Hi Abang Long,
Yeah, I agree. Respect should be earned via actions and through interpersonal actions with people, not via a rank or a certificate.
I actually felt quite upset knowing that there are such people around. Sigh.
& no worries about the post, I’m just sharing
Cheers,
Wen Bin
I am going to be repeating O levels, I don’t see how it is bad at all.
I don’t trust cambridge, I felt the O level papers was easy last year, but, somehow I phailed totally, I seriously have no idea why.
I’m turning 18 in a few days, It’s pretty sad to see an 18years old with such a low-class mentality, she/he is turning 18, but still so immature.
It’s not that we don’t know about Branded goods such as Zara, Armani, Ralph Lauren, but, is it necessary? I feel it more comfortable wearing simple clothing, no need for expensive stuff.
I have a few pieces of Ralph Lauren shirts which I hardly wear, I find it uncomfortable,
Hi Yongwei,
Precisely, I find it perfectly OK to retake O levels, or perhaps one of the paper (English?), there is nothing wrong with it.
And regarding the cambridge paper issue, I felt that it actually depends on respective school’s standards – or rather, that particular english teacher’s standard.
There were 2 students with exactly the same composition (same title, same content, same grammar, etc) and is submitted to 2 different english teacher; one of them got a B+ while the other one failed the assignment.
Anyway back to topic, I agree with you that the brand issue is not essential to everyone – some people might felt uncomfortable if they don’t wear branded clothes, but for me, I don’t care about brand; I only care about whether the shirt suits me & whether I felt comfortable wearing them
